As he sneaks through the illuminated streets, he is followed by a warm scent trail: smooth vanilla cream and glowing amber, swirling like the steam of an approaching Christmas party. At a window he stops; The scent of buttery chocolate chip cookies and Christmas spices seeps out through the cracks, along with a subtle hint of soothing lavender.
