This month, we’re excited to introduce one of our newest shaving soap and aftershave brands, Westman Shaving.
Westman shaving comes from Portugal and has been with the company since 2014. Ever since its inception, it has and is a very popular brand of shaving soap and after shave among both enthusiasts and beginners in classic wet shaving.
Part of the success is probably that here you can build your base in the classic and timeless in wet shaving. Especially when it comes to the scents. But also to challenge the classic and try something new and different. Almost all the fragrances are a mix of the timeless and modern, the classic and the new. All to create what should feel like a unique wet shave.
The products are made by hand in Portugal.
The shaving soap comes in a plastic jar that can be recycled or reused after use. The after shave comes in a glass bottle with a plastic cap.
Westman shaving - content
The shaving soaps all contain nut tallow. A classic ingredient in soap making. This is due to its good properties for creating a good glide and also being very moisturizing. Otherwise, the shaving soaps contain mostly natural ingredients. Shaving soap with sebum produces a thick, creamy, lovely shaving lather that provides excellent protection and friction between the sharp razor blade or razor and the skin.
The after shave contains alcohol and a certain amount of witch hazel. The latter also known for its natural moisturizing effect.

The five different scents in the Westman shaving collection all feel unique in that they are both classic and innovative at the same time. The different scents are also different in character. We know you’ll find at least one or two favorites, maybe all five. Mostly because all five scents from Westman shaving are fantastic if we may say so ourselves.
Adamastor
Westman shaving Adamastor is a really clear marine scent. Particularly suitable for those who love sea life, boats, sea, salt water and a horizon far away.
There is a scent of sweet rhubarbs, melon and grass. But where is the sea, you ask? The sea comes in the form of the scent of sea salt. In addition, there are the scents of wet earth and vetiver. In short, some classic scents but also a lot of new modern scents.
The name Adamastor is taken from a mythological figure who also symbolized the Cape of Good Hope on the southern tip of Africa and the Portuguese sailors who tried to get around it and conquer the sea there. Adamastor is a symbol of the wild sea and the challenges that the sea exposed sailors to. Even if you won’t experience such wild and exciting adventures, we think this is a fragrance you’ll like anyway.
The figure of Adamastor was created by the Portuguese national poet and writer Luís de Camões in his work The Lusiads. The work tells of Vasco da Gama’s search for a way to India.

Alma
Westman shaving Alma is the fragrance for those who love sweet fruits and fragrant flowers. A great fragrance for summer and when you want to feel summer regardless of the season. Who doesn’t really want to feel the scents of summer on their face all year round? Especially during the long winter darkness.
Here, passion fruits and roses are at the center of the fragrance. There is also the typical scent of musk that elegantly breaks off. But at the same time, he is not as daring as in other contexts. The classic and timeless scents of oud and cedar wood are here too, mostly in the background but can feel like a security for you from time to time.
Alma comes from the Latin animu, which means that which gives life. Alma itself is a translation of soul. A classic wet shave can be a soulful, almost spiritual experience. Something that it really becomes with this shaving soap and or after shave.
Classic wet shaving with shaving soap and a shaving brush is, we think, at least almost a spiritual experience. Above all, the part to create the shaving foam you want with the shaving brush and shaving soap. We think you should give yourself some time to shave every time. Take a moment for yourself, perhaps contemplate on the day ahead. Or what has happened. Where you are now. Then we think this scent will be perfect.
Gerês
Westman shaving Gerês is at once a timeless classic and a contemporary experiment that is fantastic all year round. A symphony of mossy wood, with earthy and sweet scents.
The basis of the fragrance is oakmoss, the idea from the beginning was a very traditional scent. A scent that would take you right out into nature, to the forest, to the wilderness, to the high mountains.
There is a long cavalcade of different tree trunks, holly and oak, birch, juniper and spruce. Thoughts that will lead you to deep green beautiful forests that start at the foot of the mountains and climb up the mountains.
The name Gerês comes from the Gerês Mountains and is a mountain of granite in northern Portugal on the border with Spain. There is a fantastic landscape with an incredible fauna. This hit Westman shaving will take you every time you shave with Gerês shaving soap or use the after shave with the same scent.
The Gerês Mountains are located in the Peneda-Gerês National Park. The mountains consist of massive granite massifs. There are also high waterfalls and a rich and in many ways unique natural life.
The question shouldn’t really be when this fragrance will fit, because we think it will all year round. But something tells us that this is a perfect fragrance for the first warm days of spring, when you long to get out into the forest and the ground again. Or in the autumn when it starts to get slightly cooler. At the same time, why not during the summer when the trees provide some pleasant coolness. Of course, also during the winter when you dream away to all this. In short, it is suitable all year round.
Ribalta
In Westman shaving Ribalta, the old and the new meet perhaps more clearly than in any of their other fragrances. Clear timeless scents together with contemporary experiments.
It all starts with a fantastic fresh citrus scent, there is also a little lime, some bergamot, neroli and the exciting addition of violets that come in and shake things up. Then follows the slightly more spicy part, cardenum, pepper and Frankincense. These appear above all while you are creating your shaving foam. Finally, there is amber and sandalwood. The last two are what put it all together at the end.
Ribalta translations are getting spotlight. There, the lime and citrus fruits are at the beginning the first dazzling rays. After that, it slowly but surely transitions to a softer, darker light while the scent becomes increasingly complex. Both a fragrance for those who love the spotlight and for those who prefer to stand outside it.

We don’t believe that you have to be in the spotlight or have a desire to be in the spotlight to use this fragrance. But we also think it can help you get there. Maybe not entirely just that, but it can certainly give you a little help on the way to the spotlight if you wish.
Utopia
Utopia is the force, the power that exists in a strongly woody fragrance. But where no scent in itself is in any way dominant. All the scents are soft but together they form a powerful unity.
The scents of tobacco and Benzoin resin or resin are two of the most prominent. The ones that smell the most in this. In the background to this are the classic scents of cedar and vetiver. They are also accompanied and supported by oud which gives off an amber-like scent. Light all over, to give harmony and break up the heavy strong scents with a certain sweetness, there is vanilla. The result is a warm and completely unique scent. A fragrance that suits a dark mysterious gentleman and everyone else.
Utopia, or utopia, is an ultimate ideal, for example in a society or as here in a fragrance. This is really both the best of the classic fragrances together with more modern elements.
