Razors
Ideal for traditional wet shaving, should be used with a groomer. Perhaps the most sustainable way to shave. Properly cared for, a razor will last a lifetime. For those who want to shave their beard or head in the most traditional way.
What is a razor?
A razor is a traditional shaving tool for wet shaving. A razor has a handle and a knife blade, often made of carbon steel, although stainless steel versions are available. Carbon steel is preferred because of its ability to sharpen into an extremely fine edge, which is essential for achieving a close and gentle shave. The use of a shave is recommended to maintain the sharpness of the blade, which is necessary to ensure an effective and irritation-free shave.
The razor can have different sharpenings, which affect its flexibility and shaving properties, as well as varying widths and tips to suit different user needs and preferences.
Shaves
Works with single-sharpened shavette blades or double-sharpened double-sharpened razor blades. A very durable way to shave and less maintenance than a razor. A great choice whether you want to shave your beard or head.
What is a shavette?
A shavette is a shaving tool that offers a shaving experience similar to that of a traditional razor but without the same maintenance requirements. The shavette uses interchangeable blades, either single-sharpened shavette blades or halved double-shave blades, eliminating the need for sharpening and strapping.
This type of shaving tool is ideal for those who desire the precision and feel of a razor shave but prefer easier operation and maintenance. A great choice for both beard and head shaving.
Razor blades
Choose between single-sharpened shavette blades or double-razor blades. Both the single-sharpened shavette blades and the double-razor blades are made entirely of metal and can therefore be recycled. Therefore, significantly more durable than, for example, multi-blade systems for razors that contain plastic.

Ultimately, the choice depends on your personal style, how much time you’re willing to invest in your shaving routine, and what kind of shaving experience you most value. Both shavette and razor can be used for both beard and head shaving.
Care and advice for your shaving tools
Safety razor
To optimize the lifespan and function of a safety razor, proper care is essential. Place the planer in a rack after each use to facilitate water run-off and prevent cross-contamination with surfaces. Use a clean toothbrush and lukewarm water for regular cleaning and removal of shaving residue. It is also important to change the double razor blade regularly when you notice that it becomes dull to maintain a safe and effective shave.
Razor
To maintain the optimal sharpness and longevity of a razor, regular maintenance with a sharpener is essential. Groom the knife before each use to achieve two important goals: to remove any particles stuck to the blade and to straighten any microscopic bends on the edge of the blade. These steps ensure that the blade is as sharp and even as possible, resulting in a smoother and more efficient shave.
After use, avoid rinsing the razor under running water. Instead, wipe the blade gently with a clean and dry towel to avoid rust and corrosion. By following these care instructions, you can extend the life of your razor and ensure its performance over time.
Shaving brush
To optimally maintain a shaving brush and extend its life, it is important that it is stored correctly. After use, the shaving brush should be rinsed thoroughly in clean water to remove all lather and beard residue. After that, the brush should be hung with the brush head facing down in a rack. This vertical positioning allows the water to drain efficiently out of the brush, protecting the adhesive joint in the knot and reducing the risk of water being absorbed into the handle or mould forming.
Hanging the brush upside down also reduces the risk of cross-contamination with other surfaces, which contributes to hygienic storage. Regular cleaning and proper storage ensure that the quality and function of the shaving brush is maintained over time.
