This razor is made in Solingen, Germany and has a heritage of craftsmanship that precedes it. This razor has 5/8 blades made of carbon steel, marked with “Deluxe” and ebony wooden handles.
For over 100 years, the name Timor has been synonymous with tools made of quality steel. Timor has long been known in the world by barbers and hairdressers as suppliers of the highest quality tools.
At the beginning of 1923, Paul Giesen and his partner Eugen Forsthoff, moved the production of their new factory to Braumstrasse, located in the heart of the Solingen steel district. Today, the company Giesen & Forsthoff still has production there.
The blade was first hot-forged from a piece of carbon steel. This is then hardened by heat treatment to hold its sharp edge. The blade then goes through a number of different machines and hand sanding processes. At this point, the different sides are added. The now finished razor is finally hand-sharpened to set the final sharpening.
