The German company Mühle is known for its world-class shaving brushes and razors. There are both entry-level models and exclusive shaving brushes and razors, all of course of the highest quality in construction and design. Mühle also has several products for skin care in connection with wet shaving. One of these products is their shaving soap in a porcelain bowl, I’ll review that. Do you use any of Mühle’s fine porcelain bowls? When the soap is gone, you can easily reuse it by buying a refill soap that is available in all three scents.

The first few times I used this shaving soap I was not completely impressed, perhaps I expected more since Mühle’s products are otherwise world class. But after trying the shaving soap a few more times, this has become one of the shaving soaps I use the absolute most. The trick, as always, is to find just the right amount of water. What I like most about it is that it feels incredibly classic and timeless. No weirdness, just shaving soap of high quality in all its simplicity. I have used it together with different brushes and just as nice results every time. The lather will be lovely and provide an excellent wet shave. The feeling of grabbing the porcelain bowl in one hand and whisking around with the shaving brush to create the lather is always a soothing feeling. It makes every morning a little better. Mühle shaving soap in a porcelain bowl is available in three different scents, sandalwood, sea buckthorn and aloe vera. Personally, sandalwood is my favorite. Sandalwood is a classic timeless fragrance that always works. Almost all manufacturers of shaving soap have it as a fragrance, which is understandable. Classically fresh masculine and works just as well all year round, although it does best during autumn and winter. In addition to sandalwood, the shaving soap also smells of coriander and star anise. Just the right amount of wood, spicy and a scent that will always feel right.
Sea buckthorn is a slightly healthier and lighter than sandalwood but also a favorite. The scents of lime and orange nicely complement the scent of sea buckthorn. Of course, this one is just as suitable all year round, but it’s in the spring and summer that it comes into its absolute own, I think. Maybe a little more contemporary than sandalwood but definitely a fragrance that is here to stay.
Finally, aloe vera together with the scent of oak and mint. The aloe vera scent is incredibly fresh and particularly light. Perfect for a morning when you want to feel fresh and fresh after shaving, especially during summer and autumn. In short, there is always at least one scent that fits.

The porcelain bowl in white porcelain is practical and stylish. It’s the right size and doesn’t take up much space either in the bathroom cabinet or on the sink. Since it is in white, it also matches most things. This is something I like about the product. The shaving soap does very well on my small sink. It also fits very well in the hand, even if you have small hands.

In addition to the shaving soaps in a porcelain bowl, Mühle also offers refill soap to buy. Either single packs or a nice package that contains all three scents. Of course, all refills are suitable for all porcelain bowls. Since the porcelain bowl together with the refill can be reused an infinite number of times, it therefore has a very low climate footprint.

This is an affordable shaving soap with a lovely scent. I use it myself daily with a very good result every time. The scent I prefer is sandalwood but I also like sea buckthorn and aloe vera a lot. Especially on Monday morning, the start of a new week, it is refreshing with aloe vera. Thanks to the reusable porcelain bowl, it becomes a product with a low climate footprint.
