A clean and comfortable shaving towel is a welcome and pleasant accessory for your wet shave. It can be used before, during and after wet shaving. Feel free to have a special towel just for wet shaving as it comes into contact with the face and body openings in it.
Shaving towel before wet shaving
A shaving towel can be used before wet shaving in two ways.
The most common is probably to turn it over to wipe off excess water from your face after showering or bathing. But don’t wipe your face dry, it should be damp but preferably not completely wet when you shave.
The second and most classic way to use a shaving towel is to soften the beard and pores before shaving. An excellent alternative to pre-shaving creams, oils, gels and soaps. Plus, a way to get the feeling of going to a barber at home every time you shave.
Start by wetting your shaving towel thoroughly and then wring out the water, the shaving towel should be damp but not wet. Put it in the microwave for about 30 seconds to get it warm enough. Then close it around your face for a moment and feel the feeling. If you want to elevate the experience even more, you can drop a few drops of shaving oil in the towel.
Shaving towel while shaving
During shaving, you can either use the shaving towel as a bib if you shave while you are dressed or to wipe away water and shaving foam that has ended up where it should not end up.
Shaving towel after shaving
After shaving, you can use the shaving towel, for example, to wipe your razor clean instead of rinsing the knife underwater. You can also wipe off shaving soap or shaving cream residue on your face.
