RAZOR GUIDE
A warm welcome to our razor guide to double razor blades and shavette. The guide focuses mainly on double razor blades, but we also cover shavette blades, adapted to be used with shavette.
What are double razor blades?
A double razor blade is a metal blade with two sharpened edges on both sides. They are used in conjunction with a safety razor or shavettes. All double razor blades we sell can be used with all safety razors and most shavettes. It is important to remember that the sharpness of a blade can be experienced differently from person to person. This depends, among other things, on the thickness of the beard hairs and their density, how you shave and the skin.
What distinguishes different double razor blades?
The major difference between double razor blades is its sharpness. Double razor blades have a scale of sharpness 1 – 5 where 1 is an extra soft blade and 5 is an extra sharp blade. We will now take a closer look at the different degrees of sharpness for razor blades.
Sharpness 1 - Very mild sharpness
Double razor blades with sharpness 1 have a very mild sharpness. Tip from the Razor Guide: Feel free to check out our packages with double razor blades.
These blades are extra soft and very forgiving. The blades are by no means dull, their sharpening is just softer than other blades.
The razor guide’s advice is to be excellent, for example, if you have very sparse beard growth. If you have a thicker beard, these leaves can be perceived as lethargic and you can risk injury if you press too hard.
Tips from the Razor Guide: For those of you who are unsure, we would like to recommend our razor blade package with 4 different brands of razor blades, all of which have a measured sharpness that is on a scale between 1-2. We also offer a pack of 5 different razor blades with 5 different degrees of sharpness.

The Razor Guide believes that this is a very good choice for those with slightly sparser beard growth. As with the softest leaves, these are in no way dull or blurry. Their sharpening is just softer than those with sharper sharpening of the blade.

The razor guide advice is that this is the best sharpness to start with, if only to get a benchmark if you need a sharper or softer blade. However, it can be a good idea to try with a few different blades.

These leaves are perfect if you have a slightly coarser beard growth or if you want a blade with a little more sharpness than usual. These blades may also require a little more steady hand than when you are just starting to shave. If you know from the start that you have a slightly thicker beard with coarse beard hairs, this can be a good step to start right away. Should you feel that they are too strong, that you injure yourself too much, you can go down a level.
The razor guide’s tip is that for many people this is the natural step after trying sharp razor blades but feel that you don’t really get the shave you want. Then these blades with slightly more sharpness can be a good idea to try.

The Razor Blade Guide to Double Razor Blades
In our Razor Blade Guide, we have collected some of the most common questions we receive. If you have more or other questions, please feel free to contact us.
Modern double razor blades for wet shaving are typically made from stainless steel instead of carbon steel, which is common for razors.
This is due to several advantages of stainless steel.
First, stainless steel is both stronger and more resistant to corrosion than carbon steel, which means that the blades can last longer and be more durable with repeated uses.
Second, stainless steel is more hygienic than carbon steel, as it is less susceptible to bacteria and other microorganisms. Finally, stainless steel is less sensitive to temperature changes than carbon steel, which means that it maintains its strength and stability better.
In conclusion, stainless steel is an excellent material choice for modern double razor blades, providing both durability, hygiene, and stability for the daily routine of wet shaving.
Yes, it works fine
It is possible to use all double razor blades with all safety razors due to the fact that most double razor blades have the same dimensions and fit into most safety razors. This gives the user a great advantage as it is easy to try different blades and find the one that works best for their needs.
Being able to try different blades gives the user the opportunity to customize the shave according to their skin and beard type, as well as to find the blade that provides the smoothest and tightest shave. This can also lead to a reduction in irritated skin and beard stubble due to the user finding the blade that is best suited for their skin.
Being able to use all double razor blades with all safety razors also provides increased accessibility for the user as they do not have to be tied to a specific blade or razor mark. This allows the user to find the blade that works best for them, regardless of where they are located or what brand is available.
The prey is not very difficult but requires you to be a little careful not to hurt yourself.
Start by making sure to be completely dry around your hands when you do this and feel free to take your time on it. It’s not a good idea to do this in the middle of shaving when you’re standing with shaving cream or shaving soap on your face, for example. Also, make sure that the safety razor is clean and dry. Also feel free to work on a surface that is clean.
Start by disassembling or opening up the shaving head of your safety razor. Carefully pick out the current leaf and place it in a small metal jar that can then be completely recycled.
Once the shaver head is clean, set the razor aside. Open up and carefully remove the new leaf from the package. Keep in mind that the long edges of the blade are very sharp. Carefully place the blade in the shaver head and assemble it or close it again.
Perhaps the most common question of them all.
Normally, you need to replace the double razor blade in a safety razor after about 5-7 shaves. It is important to point out that some people need or want to change significantly more often, while others manage longer.
This can vary depending on factors such as beard growth, hardness of hairs, and how much you shave at a time. You can also feel the blade to determine if it is still sharp or if it has become dull and should be replaced.
It is important to change the blade regularly to avoid irritation and get a close and comfortable shave. In addition, the risk of cuts increases if you use a dull blade. By having multiple blades on hand and replacing them regularly, you can maintain a consistently high quality of shaving.

Shavette leaves
As well as answering the question of what double razor blades are, in our razor blade guide, we are now going to tell you what shavette blades are.
A shavette leaf is used together with a shavette. A shavette in turn than a razor with replaceable blades instead of a razor that requires much more maintenance. Shavette leaves are therefore only ground on one side. Unlike double razor blades that fit all safety razors, not all shavette blades fit all shavettes.
Shavette leaves for most shavettes except Feather
According to our razor guide these shavette blades are suitable for all types of shavettes except those made by Feather.
Shavette Leaves for Dovo Shavettes
Personna shavette leaves are slightly longer than other shavette leaves and are intended to be used primarily with a Dovo shavette and a green leaf holder from Dovo.
Blade holder for Dovo shavettes
For Dovo shavettes, there are special blade holders to use to easily and securely hold the blade in place.
In addition, make it even easier to replace the shavette blade. When you want to change shavette leaves, simply take out the blade holder. You open it up, take out the old leaf and insert a new one. Close the blade holder and insert it back into the shavette.
For classic double-sharpened razor blades split in half and regular shavette blades, the Dovo Shavette blade holder is suitable in black – for classic DE blades. It is also suitable for most shavettes. If you have a longer blade, Dovo Shavette blade holder black is recommended – for long blades.
Shavette Leaves for Feather Shavettes
Special blades that, according to our razor guide are only suitable for Feather shavettes.
