But it all started with double razor blades for safety razors. It was when Gillette supplied razors to the US military during the First World War that double-edged razors became popular and widely used. After the war, men continued to shave the way they had during the war and the success was a fact.
The advantage of Gillette double razor blades was and still is many, they require no maintenance and are simply replaced when they no longer shave as desired. They are also cheap and environmentally friendly because they contain only metal. We like it when you recycle your double razor blades, preferably in a metal can, good for the environment and your conscience.
It was with double razor blades from Gillette that the safety razor with double razor blades would soon become every man’s property and in that way one was also shaved at home at least. It is also something that has been done for generations of men since they came into being at the beginning of the 20th century.
