The company was founded in 2002, and after a break from 2013, soap maker Jorunn started producing the high-quality shaving products again in spring 2016. These products are all made by hand in Fitjar, located on the idyllic west coast of Norway. Despite its popularity, the products are still produced on a small scale to ensure quality is maintained. The brand’s shaving creams, shaving soaps and aftershaves are known worldwide among barbers and enthusiasts for their high quality and great scents.
Described as unique and delightful, the fragrances come in four different varieties, all inspired by a love of the climate and landscape of Fitjar and the surrounding islands. Even the names of these fragrances – Fjellheim, Folgefonn, Slåtterøy and Havn – are taken from the surroundings where they are produced.
Fjellheim means ‘home in the mountains’ and is also the name of a nearby town shaped by its exposed position to the wind. These products feature spruce, juniper and wood notes, all symbolizing the town’s surroundings.
A short boat ride from Fittjar is the Folgefonn glacier, which inspired the fresh scent of menthol.
Slåtterøy is a nearby lighthouse that symbolizes the city’s long tradition of sailors and their exotic stories and these products are therefore an interpretation of the classic bay rum.
Havn is the name of the bay found in the center of Fitjar. It therefore has a relaxed and pleasant scent of cedar, chamomile and lavender, symbolizing the welcoming feeling of coming ashore after a day at sea.
These products thus materialize the Norwegian simplicity and freshness with a vision of contributing to the healthy energy and feeling the landscape of the Norwegian west coast offers. The products are suitable for all skin types and have a long shelf life, all of which contribute to a pleasant shaving experience.
